Memorial Day Weekend Fun

This quilt features Suns, Moons & Stars cut with the AccuQuilt Studio (both hand-dyed and black and white prints) on a bright yellow-orange background. The top is nearly complete(yes, you do still see pins in the black and white circle in the upper right corner and then it will need to be quilted. Have I remarked lately how much I love pure, bright color?

Main Street Mavericks

Canvas IPad Cover

Today I am doing a demo of gelli printing for the art quilt group that I belong to, the Main Street Mavericks. This photo shows the canvas IPad cover that I made with gel plates and Amsterdam paints. Red makes a great background color for my cover and I do like the graffiti style that I have chosen. I love the deep rich colors. I lined the inside with wool felt in the same bright red (found at my local JoAnn's) and even added the red velcro closure. Easy squeezy.

AAQI Quilt Total

I just checked my final total for the quilts I donated to the Alzheimer's Arts Quilts Initiative before the site disappears. The grand total for me is $1512.52. Whoo Hoo! That's really exciting. The highest single donation total for my efforts was $220 for Memories of Moweaqua. It was dedicated to my father who passed of Alzheimer's three years ago. It was imagery with organza on the surface to add a "foggy effect". I donated over 40 small quilts. This quilt is of my father's favorite tree on his farm in Illinois.
