Waxing ATC's
We took a class at Art Unraveled here in Phoenix on Encaustics and made ATC's. Artist's Trading Cards are wonderful little projects to work on. Look at the wax pots in this palette.

Symphony in Grey
I promised to show you the finished piece which I called Symphony in Grey. It is being donated to AAQI, the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative. Their monthly auctions and other efforts have raised $570.000 for Alzheimer's research. Both my grandmother and my father suffered from this debilitating disease.
This is another spin-off from Gloria Loughman's book called Quilted Symphony. I've never worked in greys before but I'm quite pleased with the way this has turned out. This piece was made in my Dad's honor. Visit the AAQI website for information on how you too can make a quilt to donate. www.alz.quilts.org

National Quilting Association Show
I have two quilts in the show, Moab and Unleashed. I will be attending the show, held in Columbus, Ohio, to see them in all their splendor.
Quilt National 2011
This is my first experience at the Dairy Barn in Athens, Ohio and it is truly amazing to see the collected works. I purchased tbe Quilt National 2011 book to help me remember everything I saw and drooled over. Just magnificent!
The book can be ordered through Amazon if you want your own.

Thanks, Ricky and all!
Today my quilt, Tucson, was selected as the Quilt of the Day on The Quilt Show with Ricky Tims' blog. I feel so honored. Here is the quilt, which was based on a photograph I took at the Sonoran Desert Museum in Tucson. You can see my other quilts posted at www.thequiltshow.com.

More Kaleidoscope Quilts
Today I taught more of Ricky Tims' Kool Kaleidoscope Quilts in a local quilt shop. I had 17 students. Here is an in-process quilt designed by Mary Johns of the Sunrise Stitchers Chapter of the Arizona Quilters Guild. She writes, "It reminds me of summer in the city so that's what i think I'll call it." I can't wait to see it once it is completed. Great job, Mary.
