Sprouts


Sprouts
My BFF, Mary, and I decided to make similar quilts. I called mine "Sprouts" because that is what it made me think of. Kind of a wild patch of machine appliqued flowers cut with my Accu-Quilt, of course. I enjoyed every minute of this buddy project. Now to decided whether to add a border or not. Hmmmm. What do you think? I so love color and the machine applique with the double blanket stitch on my Bernina 200 is just what this needed to emphasize both the flowers and the leaves below.

Another Landscape Project



Here's another...just havin' fun with hand dyes and painted fabrics. Again, its a Gloria Loughman kit. I love her work! Very inspiring.You can see that they are not yet quilted, just stitched and plain, but of course that's the point of this particular exercise. I just want to play with color and do some blending. Right now I'm studying Gloria's books and techniques. Love them!

Goria Loughman Landscape

Just a-playin' with landscapes. This is  kit I got from Gloria Loughman at Road to California many years ago in progress. Love the hand-painted sky and am working on some of my own using the Mickey Lawler Sky-Dye techniques. That's what inspired me to get out this earlier pattern. Studying colors...
