Kindle Covers

Finished Kindle Covers

These Kindle covers feature sections which were printed with Gelli Arts plaes. The center section of the peacock blue is my personal favorite, although the copper circles on the green come in a close second.

Prepared to Dye

As part of my commitment to being a reviewer of Fiber Art Now, I have yet another book to review. This one is a fabulous book about dyeing wool and other natural fabrics by Gene Shepherd, which I highly recommend. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book on a personal level, as a dyer of wool and other natural materials myself. You can read the review in its entirety at FAMM, Fiber Arts/Mixed Media's website. http://www.fibermixedmedia.com/page/fiber-art

Honorable Mention at NQA Annual Show

My quilt, "Lilies", was awarded an Honorable Mention in the Duet Category this weekend in Columbus, Ohio. Sharon Brooks was the quilter.

I am a member of the National Quilting Association and look forward to their show every year. It's a privilege to be included in the Winner's List.

Meeting Susan Lenz

I had the pleasure of meeting Susan Lenz at the Visions Gallery in downtown Chandler, AZ, when her Decisions Portraits exhibit was here. She included me in the grouping of her portraits.

ATCs for May

These are my ATC's for May. I used Timtex as the stabilizer and used Steam-A-Seam II to fuse fabrics which I had rusted (see earlier posts on how-to's). Some ATC's have mica in sheets and some in flakes, some have rusted stars, some feature rusted laces, there are inchies on several, washers colored with alcohol inks, copper and black screening, digitally-printed copper screening. You know I like rusty things if you've been reading this blog. I decided to do my ATC's in rust. Just call me Rusty Rita.
