Prickly Piecers Visit with Sue Bunch

Tonight, I attended the Prickly PIecers meeting in Ahwatuee with Sue Bunch of Back to Back Alpaca Products and assisted as she did a presentation on the manufacture of her alpaca/wool quilt batting. We did a "make and take" with the quilters to introduce them to needle felting. The quilters were amazed with the "Power Point" on how batting is made.

Patriotic Featherweight

Look at this photo of the patriotic featherweight! Isn't this a cool custom job? I want it, I want it...

Bernina Attachment

Here is a photo of the Bernina attachment for needle felting at work. I purchased this when it first became available so that I could teach with it as well as use it personally. It has five needles so that the felting goes along effortlessly with speed and precision. I have a Bernina Aurora 440 that sews like a dream and just hums while I'm creating my felting projects.

I've used a simple stencil here to create a fish design just for play.

Barbara Jansen Embellishes Her Project

Pictured here is my friend, Barbara Jansen of Scottsdale, embellishing her small coin purse. Barbara certainly knows color. Her area of expertise is in quilted landscapes, but she is a phenomenal felter as well.
